Paddy O'Doyle sauntered back up the gravel drive of the holiday gîte which his family had rented for a well earned holiday. Cillian, his five year old son, was holding his hand and dancing with excitement. "Dad, Gran says we can see the fireworks tomorrow, can we?"

Paddy smiled, "Of course son. But only if you are good for Gran, any fighting with your sister and you won't be going."

Cillian shook his head seriously, "I think, I will have to be very good, and Sophia will be too. Dad?"

"Yes, Cillian?"

"Are you and Mum going to miss the fireworks?"

Paddy shook his head, "No Cillian, I am sure we will see some fireworks, but Mum and I have to visit some friends and it is going to be lots of boring adults, you'll have much more fun here."

Cillian nodded in agreement, "Yeh! Gran says we can even go to the Waterpark with Auntie Julie. That will be much more fun than you and Mum at some boring party."
