Making Amends.

There's nothing worst that being absolutely humiliated in front of your peer group. I guess it wasn't the fact that Hazel Banks wouldn't accept my Valentines Day card it was the way she went about it that hurt the most.

For two years I had worked my butt off to be accepted within my peer group, coming from the only middle class housing estate that attended our high school, I was reminded far too often by my peers that "I was born with a silver spoon up my ass".

So what if my dad owned his own all trades firm and employed close on thirty people. So what if I'd never missed a meal in my life, I knew about hardship, just not the type that most of my school friends had endured. I knew that if I proved my worth in some form, sooner or later I'd be accepted in some form or another, the only one talent I had was football.

Sure enough, for two long years, I fought to make the left midfield position in the school team my own. I'd suffered a broken cheek bone and six stitches in my leg to prove that I wasn't a middle class wimp, if there was a tackle to be won....I won it....regardless how badly I got injured in the process.
