Renee's Birthday Challenge

Renee and Charlie were very passionate lovers long before they became husband and wife. They sold all they had to pursue a dream. Charlie had a commercial driver's license for a number of years, when He and Renee chose to sell everything they owned and buy a tractor trailer. The two of them enjoyed their life together on the road. Renee learned how to drive a truck and she too was issued a commercial driver's license.

One night Charlie and Renee were to deliver a load of machinery to a factory in the upper mid west. Having arrived late in the evening it was decided that Charlie would drop Renee off at the Sunset View motel, and deliver the load himself. In anticipation of Charlie's return Renee showered and went to bed. Renee had been asleep for only a few hours when a knock on the door awoke her from her slumber. She thought at first she was dreaming when she heard the knock again. Renee arose, then moved close to the door and asked, "Who is it?" The replay made her heart sink low in her chest, for the voice answered, "It's the Sheriff's Department, we need to speak to Renee Young." Renee opened the door to find two young sheriff officers standing on the porch displaying their badges. The closer, and the older of the two siad to her, "There's been an accident, and we need you to come with us." Renee responded, "My husband Charlie, how is he?' The officer stated that he had no information as to the condition of her husband, but Renee knew in her heart that she would never again be held in her Charlie's arms. ...
