Growing up in one of the rougher council estates of Edinburgh, if truth be told, from the moment Eve moved in next door to us, even at the tender age of 13, there was something about Eve that set my pulse racing.

With my dad working as a long distance lorry driver, when my dad entered into a contract with his boss to buy his own lorry and trailer, my parents both believed that given the figures his boss had given my dad, within a year, my dad could afford to be a house someone better.

At first, Eve and I didn't take much to do with each other, yet living about twenty minutes walk from school, by the onset of winter, Eve and I started to walk with each other to and from school. Talking most of the way to school and back home again, Eve and I quickly realised that we both shared the same sort of interests, not to mention we both loved the same Norwegian pop trio.

Hitting it off, I guess I considered it would only be a matter of time before Eve and I ended up dating, a few weeks later, Eve and I were talking and without even realising it, Eve sat admitting that she liked being able to talk to me the way she did, but....sadly, in the process she effectively ruled out the chance that we would ever date.
