The Book Club 3

The silver car glided to a stop in front of the stairs leading to the main doors and the three women got out. It was very quiet as they stepped in, almost too quiet and Sandy waved the other two forward. As they approached the study at the back of the house, they could here the TV and some loud voices; Tony must have called over some friends, Sandy guessed and they sounded drunk and obnoxious. Although they could not hear exactly what was being said, they could make out the derogatory comments being made about Sandy.

Gwen was motioning that they should move back to the front of the house, but Sandy held up her hand signaling that they should wait. She slipped off her sandals and stepped closer to the open doorway, leaning over she looked into the room. Tony along with Vincent sat on the couch with their backs to the door and Lou was off to the side in a chair. They each held a half-full glass, were smoking cigars and the room was blue with smoke.

Sandy moved back from the doorway, slipped on her shoes then escorted Gwen and Lori across the hall into another room. With the door closed, they formulated their plan; it was simple they were still dressed up nicely giving them the elements of distraction and surprise. Sandy was upset at the way they had referred to her as a cunt, slut and bitch, because she had gone out to a prearranged meeting with her friends. ...
