The next week flew by, and although Sara was happy Anatoli was back, they had little time together. Work kept her busy until after dinner and even though the West Coast swing was over, the team had a game at home and then two games in New York. The only thing that really preyed on her mind was Zach's party.

She was looking forward to it, yet worried over what Maureen might say or do about Anatoli. When she'd spoken to Maureen after returning from Thanksgiving, neither had mentioned the debacle with James. Sara felt badly, not about what she'd said then, but about the fact that talking to her sister now felt somewhat forced, and she wasn't sure how to fix it.

Well, she thought as she waited for Anatoli, maybe it isn't up to me to fix it this time. ...
