Big Mike was coming to town. I hadn't seen him in five years so I was pretty excited to see him. We had gone to high school together and had been the best of friends. Over the last few years we talked every once in a while but hadn't managed to meet up.

His job had kept him from attending my and Debbie's wedding or I'd have recruited him as my best man. Now, with the failing economy, Mike found himself on the other side of the country without a job and said he was coming home to find work. Debbie immediately suggested that he board with us until he was back on his feet and I thought it was a great idea.

When I heard the knock on the front door, I bound across the living room and opened it. Looking pretty much the same as he had in high school was Mike with a suitcase in each hand. He dropped them and held out his arms, shouting, "Little Bob!"

"Big Mike!" I yelled in response and we hugged with several hard pats on the back apiece. When we finally came apart Debbie gave Mike a hug.

"It's so nice to meet you, Mike," she said. "Bob hasn't stopped talking about you since we invited you."

"I have to say that Bob's description didn't do you justice," he replied. "You're gorgeous." ...
