Erica eased the car to the side of the road, already cursing herself for forgetting her cell phone at home. "A back road at dusk," she thought, "perfect place to have car troubles." Realizing that not much traffic will be coming through, she debates staying in the car until help happens by or getting out and walking to find help. "I'll be here all night if I stay, she thinks, "but why did I have to be in a skirt and heels if I have to walk?!"

Beginning the walk down the dark road, she starts to calculate how much of the four or so miles she'll have to do before she sees another vehicle, and at what point will the inevitable blister form. Lost in these thoughts, a half mile goes by until she is pleasantly surprised to see headlights. It occurs to her as she waves the car down that this isn't the safest thing in the world for a girl to do, but her aching feet and frustration at her car outweigh her fear of the stranger stopping to help.

Erica glances down self-consciously, mentally checking to see what the stranger would see in his headlights: she doesn't have the strongest self-confidence, so she hopes he sees her as attractive and well dressed, although she actually has more confidence in her clothes than in the body underneath. She tentatively walks up to the window, wondering who has stopped to help. "He looks ok," she thinks to herself, "not bad looking either. Big guy, bald with a goatee...could be intimidating if he wasn't smiling at me..." ...
