Cheryll seemed nervous at school the next day. She wouldn't tell Adam why, but finally when they were walking to class after lunch she pulled him into a closet. Adam was hoping for a quick make-out session, but Cheryll just crossed her arms and stared at him with a frown on her lips. "We gotta talk, Adam."

She sighed. "My mom's probably going to try and seduce you."

"Huh?"

"Tonight. At dinner. Well, not right at the table." She giggled, despite her nervousness. "But—that's why she wants to meet you. So she can try and have sex with you."

He blinked. "You're kidding. Right?"

She shook her head. "I wish. She does it with all my boyfriends. It's why I can't keep any. They always freak and leave."
