This is a new version of this story (the original is still around with "(original)" at the end of the title). Nobody, including me, really liked the ending to that version, which introduced a new character out of nowhere, and so I decided to rewrite it. Apart from correcting the odd typo, the first part of the story is unchanged.

I saw the car a couple of miles before I reached it since the roads in the desert are long and straight. It was at the side of the road with its hood up. I pulled in behind it to see if I could help. Out here in the country people need to look out for each other. I got out of my car and walked over but there didn't appear to be anyone else there. I walked back to my car and was just about to get in and drive off when I heard a noise. A girl came out from the bushes. I got just a flash of her pink panties in the vee of her shorts as she did them up. She must have been having a pee.

Now she was closer I could see that she was very attractive. Late teens I would guess. Blonde hair threaded through the back of a baseball cap. Medium sized breasts that rounded out a yellow spaghetti-strap top. A glint of jewelry in her exposed navel. Tight cut-off denim shorts. sandals.
