Annoyed at being interrupted, Torday greeted his visitor with irritation. He was met at the door by his very apologetic valet informing that the Chancellor had insisted on seeing Torday immediately. Torday followed his valet out to his study where his visibly flustered Chancellor waited impatiently.

"My apologies for interrupting sire but the northern nobles are up in arms. They are extremely upset. Some are calling for war." he said with deep worry in his voice. "We have to do something".

"Slow down Mard. Tell me what has happened" Torday replied.

"Some of the northern lords came to see me about the girl May. They were very angry. They threatened war against the capital. They said that the north had been sorely insulted and they demanded vengeance."

"Mard. Why were they angry about the girl?" Torday asked bemused.

"Oh! Forgive me sire. I should have started at the beginning. Apparently, the girl looks like Tar de' Bern's late mother." Mard replied.

Torday was still confused. "So what? Many people look like others."

"Sire she does not just look like de' Bern's mother. She is identical! ...
