I had finally opened my own law office, and fortunately for me, there was no shortage of cases. Because I was more of a general attorney, the average week for me included traffic violations, kids who had had too much alcohol, and other civil cases that didn't bring in a great deal of money, but did offer me the opportunity to better my courtroom skills. Jane stood five feet, five inches tall, but her figure was deceiving because she appeared less leggy than she really was. There had been times, for example, when she sat at her desk just outside my office, and I could see every inch of her legs from her toes to just above her mid-thigh.
