Recently I was returning from a trip overseas. Given that the flight was expected to be at least 9 hours, I decided that I should at least try to see if I could get upgraded from economy. As luck would have it, a seat was available for an extra charge. I figured that my comfort was at least worth a few extra dollars, so I forked out the money.

As I boarded, I found myself sitting in an aisle seat in the middle. I thought that would be okay, and even the fact that I would be sitting next to a young boy didn't phase me. The seat was comfortable and I had easy access to the aisle. The little boy was seated next to his mom and dad, with the dad being on the other aisle. They had a couple more kids sitting in the row in front of them. The kids were well behaved, so I thought the flight would be a good chance to catch up on sleep and some movie watching.

After they served lunch, I was watching a movie on my computer. I had my glass of red wine in my cup holder by the armrest and was quite engrossed in the film.

Suddenly, I felt wetness. The young boy in his sleep had kicked my wine glass, spilling the wine all over my right pant leg and onto my laptop. I tried to react quickly, but when you're strapped into an airline seat, there's not much chance of that happening. The mother responded quickly by handing me napkins, but the damage to my pants was done. Luckily, my laptop didn't get damaged, but there I sat with red wine ...
