The Party

Hi again, I'm Jada. I am an African American (black is ok to say) woman in her mid thirties who is also a part time actress. I really enjoy acting in a small theater near my home town. We are very fortunate to have a benefactor who is very, very rich and owns several small town theaters around the country. I say fortunate because our patron pays us handsomely even though his door receipts from his theaters do not pay the bills. He is a bit of an actor himself and everyone would recognize his name if I told it to you. I have met him personally many times and he doesn't deserve the crap he gets from the media. He is a kind, considerate, 40 something, very handsome man who loves the theater and supports it with his money not just his mouth like most famous Hollywood types do.

On occasion he invites several of his actors and actresses to a secluded spot to meet and hone up on their acting skills. Usually, about twice a year, he schedules a small party of about 30 - 40 of his peers which includes we that are on his payroll. Sometimes there are other famous actors present, sometimes not. The purpose of the party is to network with actors from around the country and help each other become better at the craft. There have been some workshops, but mostly he just likes us to talk with each other to share common experiences and give advice from one part time actor to another.
