I was talking with the boy who seemed the leader of this pack of four, two boys and two girls. They were fooling around while loading their canoes, splashing water at each other with the paddles and threatening to toss each other into the water. They were wearing blue jeans and sweatshirts, appropriated for the 48 degree weather, but not if they got wet. Cotton sucks when it gets wet. It's the ticket to hypothermia.
