A Weekend at the Manor

Amanda slowly drove up the long gravel drive towards the mansion. She had announced herself at the automatic gates and they had swung open. She was still not quite sure what to expect. She kept thinking what might lay ahead as she drove closer towards the big house in front of her.

Her precious daughter Lucy was soon to marry Tom who lived with his parents in this big modern house. Tom's father was a multi millionaire and she was still not sure if her daughter had been lucky or was moving into a dangerous world. Lucy had not said much about her prospective in laws except that Tom's father made his money in business and that they lived in this big solitary mansion. They had been kind enough to invite her for the weekend to meet them ahead of the wedding and she was certainly looking forward to it. Life had not been too much fun since her husband, Lucy's father, had disappeared a couple of years ago with a new model just over half her age. She was slightly concerned as Lucy had described Tom's parents in glowing terms, saying how inviting and open they were, how she had come to know them very well, how liberal their attitudes were and for her to just relax and enjoy the experience as it would be a very different weekend. Lucy called it a new and liberating experience. How could this not be so, she thought. She had never been a guest before in such an imposing house. It was bound to bring new experiences. ...
