Care Home

Caroline Hains was confined to a wheel chair and although she was active and mentally alert she had decided to opt for a place in a care home where she could be visited and have all her meals besides enjoying the company of other old folk. Bensons home was a very fine place: each person had their own room with washing facilities a TV and those that were able could also make a cup of tea or coffee. It was an excellent arrangement as it meant that each occupant had a private space but also a bell to ring if any thing was needed or in emergency. Caroline had not been resident for a few days when she found herself chatting to Maude her next door neighbour.

"Have you met Giles yet?" Maude inquired.

"No is he a resident on this floor?" said Caroline.

Maude smiled, "oh no he's not a resident he's a CHB comes around to tidy the rooms and clear up in the mornings.

"Whats a CHB then?" said caroline.

Maude gave her a penitrating look and smiled again, "it means care home boy have you not heard the term?"
