The year is 1984. I had just graduated from High School from a class of 48 kids. Very large for our school. I lived in a small community with lots of farms and rural area. I did not play sports,go to prom,or homecoming and i didn't hang with the jocks. I grew up on a farm, so that's who my friends were. We did not go to town to be social and meet new friends, so girls were non existent in my life. I had a few friends who all came from the farm community and were just like me. You know the type. We wore lace up work boots to the movies,wrangler jeans and always talked of farming. This was the Summer my friends asked me to go to their cabin up in the northwoods on a lake. My best friends names were Rich, quiet, good looking, thought about girls but never acted on anything and is always late. Dale, tall,quiet,and spoke only one word when you asked him something. His vocabulary consists of the words yep, nope, and maybe. Jim and Dan were brothers. Jim had curly red hair and had no prayer of meeting a girl and was a momma's boy. Dan was tall and better looking and alot of fun. But, not interested in girls either He was also 3 years older. Jim and Dan's parents owned the cabin. When i was asked to go on a fishing trip to the cabin, i said yes. There parents were going also, which was fine at the time. We made the 130 mile trip on our motorcycles following Jim and Dan's parents in there car. We did the usual things at the cabin. Fishing,campfires,rode our motorcycles and nothing out of the ordinary with their parents there. When the weekend was done, we went home and they agreed we do it again next year. A year passed by and was asked to return to the cabin again. This time it would be just us guys. No parents. My mind raced with ...
