I got the call from my wife Brandy while I was at work. She was hysterical! She had just received a foreclosure notice . . . we were going to lose our home! I told the foreman that I was sick and need to go home . . . it wasn't far from the truth.

Brandy and I had met when she was a Sophomore in high school and had been a couple ever since. I graduated a year before her, trained as an electrician and was earning enough money to marry within a year of her graduation. We had bought a nice home and everything was going well. Then the market dropped into the shiter, commercial building stopped, and I was laid off. The recovery was slow and there were hundreds of other electricians looking for work, so I was out of work long enough to go through union help and savings. Part time work just didn't make ends meet and we fell behind. I had just started back but it was a case of too little and too late.

When I arrived home I found Brandy sobbing on the couch, her eyes swollen and red. I tried to console her but I really didn't have any answers myself.
