It is a pleasant autumn day. The fallen leaves in hues of gold, red and orange fill the air with their pungent earthy scent. The birds that remain behind for the winter are chirping noisily in nearby bushes and trees. Kennis is sitting on her front porch with a mug of coffee pretending to read her e-mail while she watches the house across the street.
