A Family Holiday Vacation

This story is being written while on the family vacation in sunny Florida. Every year we travel down south for two weeks. I meet my parents down here and we meet up with another family. My parents have been friends with this other family for a long time. I've known their kids most of my life. They have three kids: two boys and a girl. The girl is my age (recently 28, a good age so far) and her brothers are on either side of her in age. We have been getting together for holiday celebrations and vacations with this family for years. We've grown up together. We are like one big family - with one exception: I have a huge crush on my friend's younger brother. He's smart, funny, and really knows his sports - something that is very important to me. He just finished a journalism program and has been offered a great job out west. For the past few years, this two-week vacation is the only time I ever get to see him. Sitting by the pool today, I started daydreaming and this is where my mind wandered...

Plates and cutlery clink together around a large wooden table as nine well-fed people chatter away, laughter both with and at each other. My parents and I are over at the Louis' unit having out big Christmas dinner. We have been at the resort for about a week now and have spent our days playing tennis and having drinks at happy hour by the pool. We have been able to relax and forget about the stresses back home.
