What with Helen Preston's husband, Michael, being an affluent Bank manager of considerable years; both work wise and his age (now 44), Helen had little need to work, while their two teenage children, one of each, were attending higher education. One thing I will say, and I know she won't mind me mentioning it, is, that for all their wealth, they, like the rest of us, lived in quite modest surroundings; they didn't, therefore, flaunt their financial success.

Fiona Alan, a woman with both a very strict and demanding demeanour, had been instructed by her boss, a Mr Prendergast, to find someone to take over the anchor for one of the TV network's news channel's.

Knowing the two candidates that she had in mind for the job, she summoned both Jill Masters and Ted Daniels to her office, where, when they arrived, she was sat on a long black couch, and directed them to the shorter one, set at a right angle and to her right.
