Tangled Family Ties Tighten

The morning following their first official date, Alex woke first, eased from the bed and tiptoed to the kitchen, prepared an extra large pot of coffee, and tiptoed back toward the bathroom of his one-bedroom Town House. He didn't make it. I kissed her tenderly, wiped the second start of her tears away and sat her back on the edge of the bed. As her weepy eyes looked up at me, I was saying, "Let's shower and go for breakfast. We really need to talk about us and we can do that as we eat. Does that appeal to you?" ...
