Chapter 3: Philip the Accountant

Jonathan, the suspicious controller, was too senior and probably too wary for me to approach directly. I decided to be more oblique and try and find out more about what was going on in finance through a different person.

Philip was one of the accountants who worked for the controller. He was mid-thirties, tall. Good body, obviously worked out, without being ripped or anything. He would be my next target. Or rather, I would place myself in the right place and he would think I was his next target.

Late in the day I went to his office. I had a list of various documents that I needed to see. But mostly it was an excuse to sit in his office and chat to him. I gave him the list of stuff I needed to get copies off. Just as planned it was approaching the time for everyone to go home.

"So which gym do you go to? The one in the hotel I'm in is crap," I asked him.

"How do you know I go to a gym?"

"Come on. At the risk of being accused of sexual harassment, I have to ...
