FIFTH FRIDAY

There are about four months every year that have five Fridays. There are usually more of them in the second half of the year than in the first but otherwise they occur rather at random.

It was because of this unpredictability that Jan and Todd did something special every "fifth Friday of the month". Also, because by coincidence the first time they had done it was a fifth Friday.

They took a room at a a local hotel, for the one night. Only a few hotels in town had the combination they wanted: well appointed romantic rooms, good dinner room service, and a lively bar well attended both by hotel guests, mostly male, and local people, mostly looking for hookups.

They had an open marriage. Jan had been with other men during the four years they had been married: mostly guys she met at work, acquaintances, one of her exes. At first just when Todd was away traveling, when he too had occasional sex with casual partners. Later, she did it when he was in town also. She was amazed at how such an alpha male as Todd adapted himself to being known as the husband of a woman that other men could and did mate with, even offering her to some of his friends, or telling others, who hesitated out of loyalty to him, that it was OK and to go ahead. ...
