Unfortunately, the last three days went by almost as quickly as the three weeks prior to them. June still slept next to me. We had had another long night last night, so I didn't expect her up for a couple of hours. I would have probably been snuggled up to her, but I wanted to catch Becky on the phone during her layover in Atlanta. Becky would have to endure a 3 hour layover, but her only other alternative for a reasonably priced flight would have had her getting in at 10:00 at night.

As I dialed the number, I wondered how and when I should tell her about June. I always had been a procrastinator when it came to situations that might create conflict. Now, though, I regretted not letting Becky know that there was another woman here waiting. One way or another she would find out in the next 5 hours whether I liked it or not.

Becky, picked up on the fourth ring. I had almost wondered if I had my times wrong. "Hey, honey," she told me as she answered the phone.

"Hey. I guess you saved this number, or do you call everyone who calls from Mexico honey?" I replied. The pay as you go Mexican phone was a small fraction of the price that my AT&T service would have cost.

"Not everyone. Just you and Juan," she joked.

"Good. I was worried that you had developed a thing for short guys with ...
