My decision had been made. I would temporarily join the Davis and Crum, LLC as a partner until the time Miranda and Monica could obtain their CPA license in a couple of years. The firm was begun by her father Richard Crum. Ray joined right out of college. Now, the original owner's daughter and granddaughter were coming aboard. They were both committed to get on the ‘fast track' of intensified study to get them to their goal of business ownership. I was just delighted to help out the wife of my old, late friend Ray.

I told Miranda that the first thing I wanted to do was to have a full staff meeting to access where the practice was at the moment. After classes one day soon we'd simply spend the entire day reviewing what was going on, prioritize our "to so" lists, access whether the two bookkeepers needed to obtain any ongoing education, and to balance out the work load. Everyone from Miranda down to the bookkeepers would have to pull their weight! It was as simply as that. Miranda and I would review the pay structure to see if they were charging clients a fair rate for the work done. So, we began a ‘top-to-bottom' assessment of the practice. Miranda was so very thankful that I took this approach.
