A Bobby Adams Story Part 6 - Merry Christmas, Baby

On Christmas Eve afternoon, Bobby Adams went to the local high school along with the rest of the small lakeside community where she lived to enjoy the town's Christmas pageant. The school's auditorium was opened so that the local theatrical group could present A Christmas Carol and classes of local school children could sing Christmas songs.

Afterwards she spent Christmas Eve with her buddy Jeff and his family. He and his wife always had a potluck open house on Christmas Eve and invited friends and neighbors. Jeff supplied the hot ham and roast beef along with fresh hard rolls and condiments while neighbors brought a variety of salads, finger foods, and desserts. Bobby brought three bottles of her famous homemade Irish cream whiskey that was as thick as a milk shake and even tastier.

Each Christmas Eve, Jeff and all his guests watched It's a Wonderful Life on the big screen TV in his media room in the basement. It was always a challenge to hold back tears in front of the other dozen or so weeping guests.

Bobby always related to George Bailey. There were many times in her life when things went badly and she wished she was never born. She just hoped she would one day have a partner like Mary in her life to rally ...
