Kim. Where do I begin?

I first met Kim some 4 years ago. As an IT contractor, I've ended up in quite a few places. Hospitals, utility companies, private firms, I've done the lot.

This time, I had managed to bag a position working for a big outsourcing firm, as a roving engineer. My main task was on the MADC team - that's Moves Additions Deletions & Changes. Essentially, any new kit, kit being moved or decommisioned. It could be anything from setting up a new user to installing new printers or PCs. Easy enough work, but always busy.

We could never have managed our workload if it wasn't for the Schedulers. These guys would look at all the current tasks, break them down by location, complexity and timescales, then create schedules for each engineer on the team, to give some sort of order in the chaos.

Kim was on the Schedulers team, and eventually became the one I worked with the most. She had a natural talent for putting together highly efficient schedules, and the ability to soothe clients when I was running late. It helped that we clicked almost immediately, as we worked quite closely.
