It had been a week since Kennis returned home from her trip to the Bahamas with Ilya and found out someone attempted to burn her house down. She was holed up at his friend Paulo's house while Ilya was in Miami taking care of the man who was causing him and Kennis so much trouble.

She was working on the layout for the spring website and catalog for her employer At Home, a home décor and furniture retailer, on her laptop computer at Paulo's house.
