Jackie loved this house. It was bright and light and airy and very modern. She had been cleaning for Mr Jones for 6 months now but was still overawed by his wonderful house every time she walked through the door.

Cleaning probably wasn't an accurate description - she was more of a house keeper she supposed. As well as cleaning she washed and ironed, shopped and pretty much anything else he asked of her - so far anyway.

As usual there was a note on the kitchen table with a list of what he wanted her to do that day. She came in every day but not weekends. She wasn't sure who looked after him at weekends - maybe he had a girlfriend he moved in for two days - she didn't think he was the type to look after himself. Jackie had only met him twice - once when he interviewed her at his very smart office in town and then a second time when he had showed her his house and they had decided how they would operate. So far it worked well.

So, today. She had pretty much developed her own routine - Mr Jones just made a note of any extras. Not much today except he said there was a delivery arriving at some point during the morning. Good, that meant she could get on with her plan. She really needed to clean the wonderful open stair case and the only way to do that was on your hands and knees with a bucket of water and a cloth.
