Part One

I dragged my draggy self out of bed at 6, ready for another exciting day as a cubicle potato. After six and a half years even the software business can be dull. I leaned over the sink with my electric razor and ran light circles over my cheeks. The floor was cold and I thought again that I needed slippers. It came back to me. It was my birthday.
