Ray and Alex were throwing a ball about outside the latter's parents, when a silver grey Sarb pulled up past them and then came to a smooth halt.

It had been a long drive for Lucy Davenport, Alex's new neighbour, having severed her ties with her manager and sometime lover. Time for a new start, and she'd settled on the quaint suburban life that the area had to offer.

As she alighted from her car, dressed casually in blue jeans, the sort that only a slim waisted woman could wear, and a half sleeve pastel yellow top with a yolk neck, Ray was the first to notice her straight neck length blonde hair, which shone in the sunlight. It was as if the light was concentrated on her hair like a spotlight.

"Get a load of her," he lowly said to Alex, as he stood clutching the ball.

"Mom mentioned we were getting new neighbours," Alex rejoined, all the while looking in her direction as Lucy locked the car, and then made her way up the path to her new home.

"Hey, steady," called Alex, when Ray, having finally returned the ball, caught his back.
