Prologue

This is part one of a two-part story recalling events which happened during one evening in a medium sized mid-west city. The events happened both on and near a major college campus. Some of you may be able to determine the location from the description of certain landmarks, etc.

First names are usually the true names of the persons involved, with the exception of me and my ex. At the time, I was 32 years old and married. I have medium length red hair and at 5'4" and 123 lbs am still in pretty good form for a now 34 year old single woman. ===============================================================

I had come home from my shift early. Ron's (my husband) car was in the driveway, so he must have stopped home for something. He seldom left the clinic during the day.
