This is the final part, part two, of a two part story relating events from a single day (or maybe 30 hours or so), two years ago which began when I caught my husband with another woman. Please read part one first to gain a better understanding and perspective of what had transpired up to this point in the story.

The waitress brought our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. She was attractive. About my height, maybe a bit taller. Dark hair. She was wearing a black top and black pants. She had multiple piercings in her ears. Probably some others too.

I asked what the soup of the day was and she told me there were two. Split pea and chicken noodle.

I like split pea, but it can sometimes be a bit heavy so I ordered a cup of chicken noodle. Tom ordered a burger platter to go with his beer.

We continued chatting. Finally I casually asked Tom if he had a girlfriend. Sure he laughed, I just met her last night. She's with me now. We both laughed.

"Seriously," I continued, "who's the special girl in your life. I can't imagine a guy as sensitive and attractive as you doesn't have himself ...
