About a month or so ago, I was browsing through my e-mails when I came across one from a good friend of mine whose name was Abraham. He was away, serving our country in the military and the two of us kept in touch via e-mail whenever we could. We had known each other for a while and after high school he decided on joining the military, where he ended up making a career of it. Currently, he was stationed on a base located on a remote island just off the coast. He had been there for the last two years and as I read his e-mail, he told me that he was going to be getting transferred back to the mainland. I continued reading his e-mail and it said that he was going to be getting transferred to a base here on the East Coast and before his transfer, he was going to have a couple of weeks off from duty. During those weeks, he was hoping to come back to town and visit but he had a slight problem. He didn't have any family that could put him up and he really didn't want to spend money on a hotel room for those couple of weeks. In his e-mail, he asked if I knew of anyone that would be willing to give him a place to sleep so that he could come to town and visit. If not, he would skip his time off and just had to the base. I finished reading his e-mail and sat there, pondering his question. We had a guest room that we didn't use for anything and I would be more than glad to have him stay over. The problem was getting that passed my husband. I didn't reply right away and decided to wait till my husband got home from work to talk to him about it. I went about my day as usual and began to prepare dinner.
