Chapter 4: The Cottage

After the episode at the art gallery, Tallia made the difficult decision to move. She wanted to move out of the city as far away from Armand and her memories of him as possible but still within driving distance of her friends and family.

She explored a variety of venues of artistic communities that ranged in distance from thirty to more than two hundred miles from her current home.

It was the weekend before Halloween and she was growing weary of apartment hunting. This was going to be the fifteenth property she looked at since her decision to move and she was beginning to think fate was having a joke at her expense. She felt like Goldilocks where nothing she tried was quite right. The rental properties she examined that were in her price range were in awful disrepair, incredibly tiny, or both. The town of Lac Noir and the rental property she was going to see seemed just right if the realtor's website was any indication. She hoped fate would smile kindly on her and make the wait and the trouble of apartment hunting finally worth it.
