Altered Dreams Happen

It was crunch time at HCSN. Cybil, Miranda, Gregg and Kenny sat around the circular work table in Cybil's private office with papers spread everywhere. The papers were marked in red indicating changes that the group had inserted for Kenny's people to use in creating the software changes required by the inept federal health agency. The submission deadline had been extended by two weeks for all bidders to modify their bids to meet the new requirements. HCSN considered itself fortunate even with the mass of changes because those changes had forced three companies to drop their bids to assume the business from HCSN. They now had to better only two other companies. That was the work cut out for them. Heather and Allie were in the office to do the go-fer work that was needed because of the enormous lists of inclusions that needed verification from the print and production shop.

It was nearing Noon when the phone rang. Cybil reached around, picked it up and only said, "Cybil!" A short pause and then she turned to Heather and said, ""It's Security at the entrance." She handed the phone to puzzled Heather who shrugged when she said, "Heather Gordon." A lot of nodding and yeses and then her face brightened when she perkily said, "Don't send him to my office, and then send him to the third floor cafeteria. It's easier to find and that's where I'm headed." She turned and looked at Cybil who stood and announced, "Let's break for lunch and get back here at one-thirty."
