Northern Lights part 3:

I walked down the gangplank off the ship, hoisted my bag on to my shoulder, turned to look at the ship and then walked off into Bergen wondering what the next few days might bring!

After my divorce had come through I'd felt really low, but a relaxing summer holiday in the Lofoten islands, together with the help of a few awesome women, had put a new spring in my step. I walked into the centre of Bergen, past the coffee shops and gift shops looking at everyone relaxing and enjoying the summer sunshine. I grabbed a coffee and sat in the sun listening to Gee Gee and Soluna playing a medley of good old blues and folk songs, overlooking the harbour and the fish cafes. I wandered off to the address of the B&B I'd been given that did good value accommodation a little way out of the centre. Checked in, unpacked and then set out for the Maritime museum.

The Maritime museum has a couple of Viking longships, which have always fascinated me, and I spent the afternoon wandering the halls and enjoying all the exhibits. I headed back to the hotel and decided to talk the cable car to the top of Floyen and go for a run along the mountain trails and enjoy the scenery. I changed then took the funicular railway to the top of in the late afternoon sun.
