Art's Medical Crisis Turned to Gold

The EMS crew left with the sirens blaring and Art strapped to a gurney being fed glucose and oxygen. Sonja, his Aide was on the line to Markey listening to it ring. Markey's assistant answered and Sonja told her she urgently needed to inform Markey about Art's medical crisis. When Markey picked up Sonja was in tears as she explained that the student teaching intern had found Art unconscious in the floor of his office. The EMS had just left the campus with him in the care of the crew. She managed to stutter to Markey that they were taking him to City Medical Center, the closest facility. Markey nearly dropped the phone she was shaking so hard. When she hung up, she told Karen, her aide, that Karen would have to drive her because she was too shaken to get behind the wheel. She hand Karen the remote and Karen commandeered the elevator and took it directly the 14 floors down to the garage. She drove to the front door where Markey stood pacing the front of the building. They made it in record time without a ticket or siren chasing them. Luck was on their side. If it just held for Art all would be okay.

Markey jumped out, Karen went to park. When Karen slammed through the door on her return, Markey was in a chair being counseled by a green scrubs-clad nice looking man, probably an ER doctor. Karen stood back and waited until he had finished.
