German Games - Part 2

Deb and I woke quite late the following morning. I looked at my watch, saw it was 10am and worried that Werner and Anke would be waiting for us. We quickly showered, got dressed and went downstairs. Our hosts had laid on a lovely breakfast out on their terrace. We apologised for sleeping in, but they told us they too had not long been up. Given that Anke's hair was still wet I believed them and felt somewhat relieved.

After a relaxed breakfast Werner and Anke took us on a tour of their city. We stopped for lunch at a nice little café and while we were waiting for the food Werner popped outside to make a phone call. Anke told us he was calling the club to let them know that we would be coming along that evening. I actually got butterflies in my stomach at this and felt Deb squeeze my thigh under the table.

When Werner returned they filled us in a little more on how the evening would run. We would have a dinner at a place nearby at around 7 and then would walk up to the club. There was no dress code (obviously!) so the fact we were all dressed casually wouldn't be any sort of issue. They also taught us a couple of handy German phrases, so that we would understand a bit more about what was going on and what people might be asking us.
