I haven't always had sex with other men outside my marriage - in fact up until six months ago, the thought of cheating on loyal, dependable but boring Sean had never crossed my mind. I'd just hit my forties and resigned myself to a settled life, and sex being him getting on top of me, moving around a bit and then him rolling off and falling asleep whilst I brought myself to climax.

It changed the day I went to my friend's pool party. She'd married into money; her husband owned a chain of garages, and their home was a million times better than anything I could ever hope to own. The men all disappeared into the house so that Simon could show off his large screen 3D tv system, whilst the women gathered around the pool and Lynsey made cocktails. I swam up and down the pool, half listening to their conversation. I had assumed they were all happily married and that having a bit of a moan about their other halves was just par for the course when a bunch of women got together. However, once their men were well out ear shot I was shocked to learn how many of them were having affairs, either full blown long term things or a series of one night stands.
