A little over a year ago, some of you may have read my story about a bit of help that I was asked to offer a friend of mine. For those who didn't, I'll give you a quick recap of what happened. I had gotten home one afternoon and received a phone call from a good friend of mine. She informed me that she was going to require some pretty extensive surgery and would most likely be out of commission for several months. She had suffered an injury earlier in the year and had put off correcting it for quite a while and eventually it got worse, requiring major surgery. Since I had previously worked in a hospital, helping patients who were healing up and whatnot, she was calling to ask for a bit of help. She was wondering if I could help her once she came home from the hospital, which obviously was no problem for me since she was a good friend. She also was hoping that I would be willing to help her husband Joey out a bit since he would have his hands full with the kids and everything else that would be going on.

I was out of work at the time and didn't see a problem with it. Their oldest son was overseas, serving in the military so he wouldn't be around, but his younger siblings would need someone to help them with their homework and other such things. Joey had to run back and forth to the hospital, as well as tend to the kids and home life so it wasn't easy on him. I came by on a daily basis and helped him with the children, going over their schoolwork and doing laundry and such things like that.
