Story outline: Realising officer McFarland had taken the last of the station's donuts, his fellow night tour colleagues manage to catch ‘Rachel's Treats', just before she closed for the evening. Shortly thereafter, the rain teamed down, but she made it, nonetheless.

December 2014.

"What's the spread on, Dallas, George, I'm feeling lucky?" officer Crudup whistled down the phone at his favourite bookie.

With Romo firing bullets to his wide receivers, in particular, Des Bryant, the new Michael Irving (they both having the same shirt: 88) and star running back DeMarco Murray managing not to fumble as much as last season, the Cowboys were set for a showdown with the Eagles the coming Sunday. The game was important, as it would decide who, from the NFC east division, would make it to the play-offs come the season's end.

"Keep your money, James. You know what happened last year, then again, just a few weeks ago," George reminded him. Crudup may be young, but, as an officer of the law, he knew how to spot fear in a suspect, and his bookie was exuding all the signs, in particular, a dry mouth. Dallas were 9-4, and they'd even managed to silence the 12th man crowd at Seattle in week 6.
