Story outline: Having fallen in love with one of the many bridal gowns she had tried on, Stacey was shocked at the price. However, she was doubly shocked when the confident assistant explained his special discount offer to a soon to be married woman.

My mum was going to come with me to get my bridal dress, however, my dad got ill and so I ended up going alone. All in all that was a good thing - considering...!

My parents, as is customary, gave me money to buy the dress I wanted. I had tried on several in the bridal shop, one that was attended by a young good looking guy wearing a slate-grey two-piece suit, white shirt and a grey tie. He was quite polite and let me take my time, especially when I came back to the second one, which I just had to try on again. It looked perfect on me. Martin, my fiancé, would certainly be proud on seeing me walk down the aisle of our local church, little knowing, in hindsight, how I was able to afford it.

"How much is this one?" I enquired.

"It fits perfectly, doesn't it," he said, smiling. All the same, he didn't yet answer my question as I turned one way and then the other in front of a long mirror.

"Yes, yes, it does, but how much?" I iterated. ...
