As this past summer came to an end, I was a bit bored and sad that I had to return back to work. I was working in the school system and was lucky enough to have the summer off. Unfortunately, with family issues and other things going on, the summer flew by. I wasn't ready to go back to work yet but really had no choice. A few weeks before I was to return to work, my husband came home with a surprise. He said that his boss had given him the final week of the month off and after talking with a few of his friends, they had all decided to book rooms down the shore for the week. I was happy to be able to get away for a week, but at the same time wished that it were with other people. I really didn't know his work friends or their families, except for maybe one or two of them. I knew that I couldn't be picky, and decided to make the best of it. I looked forward to a week on the beach and hoped to relax and enjoy myself.

The following week arrived, and my husband and I packed our car and were on our way. We arrived a couple hours later and checked into the resort. It was a very nice place lovely rooms and a large swimming pool. After checking in, we put on our swimsuits and headed down to the pool where we met up with my husband's coworkers and their spouses. As he introduced me to everyone, I noticed that one coworker was by himself. His name was Mike and he mentioned that his wife make it because they wouldn't give her time off at work.
