I was sitting at my desk one afternoon, going over a bunch of paperwork and information as I tried to put together a project for my boss, which meant a lot to my future with the company. If I was successful with this project, then I was looking at a substantial raise and a promotion in the company, working just below my manager. I really needed that because financially, things were a struggle at home. If I didn't succeed with this project, then I don't know what that would mean, but the likelihood of me getting another offer like this would probably be out the window. I needed to do the best that I could in order to make this work and that's what I was trying to do. As I was going over some of the paperwork, I overheard someone call out to me and looked up to see James, an employee who was working with us from another branch of our company. He usually flew in on Monday mornings and spent the week working with us, before flying back to his home state on Friday afternoons. I knew it was a bit rough on him, but it was only temporary and once we got a few things settled with the company, he would be back at his regular office on a regular basis.

As I was going over the paperwork, he stopped in to see how I was doing. I told him what I was working on and he looked over some of the stuff with me. He told me that he was familiar with the project and asked if I needed some help with it. I was thankful and definitely could use help so I accepted his offer.
