A little over a year ago some new neighbors moved in next door. They were much younger than my husband and I, having both just graduated from college in the last couple years.

At the time, my husband and I were having some pretty serious marital problems. I'll save you all the details and just say things kind of spiraled when we had kids. We loved each other and our children, but we disconnected somewhere along the way like so many other couples. Basically, the ‘spark' was just gone.

We even looked into swinging. To this day, I'm not sure it's something either of us really wanted, but we tried because everything else seemed to be failing. It just created more problems and drove us further apart. We divorced shortly after.

That takes me back to our neighbors. As a mom working a full-time job and juggling two kids with activities galore, it was almost impossible. My ex-husband had moved out and had the kids every weekend, but Ryan and Lindsey, the new neighbors, became two people willing to help and gave me someone to lean on. When needed, they would help getting the kids to practices or games, making dinner if I had to work late, even assisting with homework. I was so thankful.
