We were also doing something a bit risky. Tracy had a friend called Fiona, although after the first time she told me her name, she always called her Fi. Tracy told her parents she was going away for the weekend with Fi. So far, so normal. But Fi's parents were friends with Tracy's parents so it was too dangerous if Fi didn't go away too.

Tracy would go to Fi's house first thing on Saturday morning and pick her up. Fi was actually going to spend the day with one of her friends doing every teenager's favorite thing, shopping and hanging out at the mall. So Tracy would drop her off at her friend's house before coming to mine.

But, again, all the parents knew each other, so at the end of the afternoon Tracy would go and pick Fi up and bring her to my house. In order to get Fi to go along with the deception, she'd had to tell Fi at least something about me, and so she was intrigued to meet me. I agreed that we would all go out to dinner that evening. After dinner, we would all come back to my house. Fi would sleep in the spare room.

"It makes me feel like your real boyfriend," Tracy said.

"Having Fi in the spare room?"

"Yes. And she knows we will be in your bed together. I've never done that before." ...
