I woke up the next morning to more new snow on the ground. Another storm had blown through in the wee hours of the morning and was just starting to die down. I could barely see the sunrise through the thin cloud cover and sparse dusting from the tail end of the storm. It was quite breathtaking the way the sun shown behind the clouds. There was no outline of the sun, just a golden aura glowing brightly with bits of pink strewn across the sky and the most perfectly intricate snowflakes you've ever seen slowly floated to the ground. There was something about it that made me feel as though the universe was hinting that something special was about to happen.

It was my 34th birthday and for the first time since my early twenties I was single... and I was absolutely loving every minute of it.
